Preparing for baby!

Just a little update on our growing family...
We bought our baby's crib last week and began painting this week.
My mom was such a wonderful help and came over to paint the baby's room (let's call this round 1).
I then decided after much struggling that the paint color was too light green, so Scott then repainted it a darker sage color..and I officially love it :) (round 2).
Scott put together the crib tonight in less than an hour, and it looks wonderful!
Looking at the crib really makes all of this preparation sink in that soon we will have a little one here who will be sleeping in it.
We can't wait to meet our baby boy, to see what he looks like, what he likes/dislikes and to see him experience life! It is amazing how you can already love someone that you haven't even met.
Come on December :).

IT'S A.......................

We just found out our baby is a BOY! The ultrasound tech did a few angles of our baby and each one indicated boy, which she was certain :). We are so excited!
We had a small crew with us which included Scott and I, my mom, Scott's mom & Grandma.:)
We were most happy that our baby is growing healthy and that his body is forming healthy and strong. The tech showed us his heart and it's four chambers (which is amazing for something so little!). She said his kidney's are working properly and his spine looks normal. We praise God for his provision and blessings in our lives!

He is already a big boy, his weight is around 13 ounces, which is in the 75% for babies at this time. Our baby also has a larger head and is in the 95% for babies (must take after Scott in this area ;)...hehee). I will post pictures as soon as I can :).

We are so blessed beyond measure and are so thankful to God!

Through this pregnancy, Psalm 139:13-16 has really had new and wonderful meaning to me:

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
Your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

13 Weeks-Our first Ultrasound

We finally got to see our little one on May 27th!
We had our first ultrasound appointment and was only expecting to see a little "bean" image.
It was amazing when the ultrasound tech placed the wand on my stomach, and up popped a little baby on the screen! Scott and I just stared in awe at the screen, watching our baby move his/or her little arms and legs all around. When the tech tried to get the heartbeat, the baby kept moving around and it took her a few times to finally hear it. The heart rate was 165, which is in the healthy/normal range.
The tech also did the measurements of the baby and estimated the baby weighed 3 oz. and was measuring about 5 days bigger!
We thank God for our little blessing, and can't wait until our next ultrasound appointment :).

Check out baby Struckel! The first 3 pictures are with the 4D ultrasound, and the last with 2D.
The first picture looks like the baby is flexing its muscles ;).
The next two has the baby's arm up around its face.
The last is a side profile of the baby.

10 weeks-Mother's Day Surprise

------

So Scott and I have kept a little secret from our friends and family for awhile now.
This was the longest kept secret I've ever kept (over something that was going to be a gift or surprise). Scott sworn me to secrecy after we found out we were pregnant on
March 27, 2010.
This was an unexpected blessing, and Scott and I really wanted to make it a special occassion when we told our parents. We prepared a Mother's Day dinner and our parents came over to eat. We had a good time talking and eating, but Scott and I were getting a little restless to share our secret.
Our Dad's were talking about politics, when I handed our Mom's their cards and Mother's Day gifts. The card read on the front "You're a grandma now". As we watched our Mom's read the card, it took them awhile to understand what was going on. Finally my mom stood up and said "You're joking, you're joking". Scott and I just giggled as our Dad's still were clueless.
Finally after our Mom's opened their gifts which were "Grandma" baby bibs, they understood and everyone was in shock and excited!
It was a fun memory and something we will share with our child down the road.
Here is a couple of pictures of our mom's opening their cards and their first reactions :).
