13 Weeks-Our first Ultrasound

We finally got to see our little one on May 27th!
We had our first ultrasound appointment and was only expecting to see a little "bean" image.
It was amazing when the ultrasound tech placed the wand on my stomach, and up popped a little baby on the screen! Scott and I just stared in awe at the screen, watching our baby move his/or her little arms and legs all around. When the tech tried to get the heartbeat, the baby kept moving around and it took her a few times to finally hear it. The heart rate was 165, which is in the healthy/normal range.
The tech also did the measurements of the baby and estimated the baby weighed 3 oz. and was measuring about 5 days bigger!
We thank God for our little blessing, and can't wait until our next ultrasound appointment :).

Check out baby Struckel! The first 3 pictures are with the 4D ultrasound, and the last with 2D.
The first picture looks like the baby is flexing its muscles ;).
The next two has the baby's arm up around its face.
The last is a side profile of the baby.

10 weeks-Mother's Day Surprise

------

So Scott and I have kept a little secret from our friends and family for awhile now.
This was the longest kept secret I've ever kept (over something that was going to be a gift or surprise). Scott sworn me to secrecy after we found out we were pregnant on
March 27, 2010.
This was an unexpected blessing, and Scott and I really wanted to make it a special occassion when we told our parents. We prepared a Mother's Day dinner and our parents came over to eat. We had a good time talking and eating, but Scott and I were getting a little restless to share our secret.
Our Dad's were talking about politics, when I handed our Mom's their cards and Mother's Day gifts. The card read on the front "You're a grandma now". As we watched our Mom's read the card, it took them awhile to understand what was going on. Finally my mom stood up and said "You're joking, you're joking". Scott and I just giggled as our Dad's still were clueless.
Finally after our Mom's opened their gifts which were "Grandma" baby bibs, they understood and everyone was in shock and excited!
It was a fun memory and something we will share with our child down the road.
Here is a couple of pictures of our mom's opening their cards and their first reactions :).
